With the ever increasing flow of families moving to Defiance and the surrounding area, it has become paramount to orchestrate a local hub for the public to plan their visit to our area. A web site where visitors will be able to view all of the sites of each organization has been created. At this time there are two Bed and Breakfast Inns and two restaurant/bars. There’s also a cafe, a bakery, Wine Country Gardens, two wineries, Sugar Creek Winery & coming soon Yellow Farmhouse Vineyard .
The town is well known for the Katy Bike Rental providing bicycles for a leisurely ride on the historic Katy Bike Trail. America’s longest rail to trail cycling trail (225 miles) see limestone cliffs, two Missouri capital cities, winery towns and ragtime history. Enjoy our Midwestern hospitality, the beauty of the Missouri River valley, small villages and comfortable accommodations. The Katy Trail is generally flat and easy to ride. Next door to the bike shop is Robins Nest On The Katy Bike Trail, just one of many delightful shops featuring seasonal home decor and unique gift ideas, and one of the newest residents in town is Crystal Goldkamp, an excellent artist.
One of the attractions dating back to the early 1800's is the Daniel Boone Home & Boonesfield Village , Defiance is a fascinating place to visit.
